Try Tapping to lower your stress

Tapping is a very simple healing technique. It can also be used to improve self-esteem and personal achievement. It has extensive application in improving the wellbeing of individuals. Tapping can be used to: relieve negative emotions and painful memories; change negative thinking enabling greater self-esteem; assist in greater clarity when facing difficult decisions; ease painful memories; reduce physical pain.

Tapping can be easily learnt and can be used by everyone. It is self-administered and involves gently tapping on specific points on the body. Whilst tapping on the points, the process also involves focusing on your particular issue by saying some phrases about the problem. The entire sequence takes less than a minute to perform and it is common for a person to get immediate relief from a particular problem. In many cases the process is repeated to get further relief. For complex or long-standing issues, it is advisable to work with an EFT practitioner who has experience in finding different aspects related to your issue or obstacles to healing. The relief gained after tapping on a specific issue is usually long lasting.

Tapping, or EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), was developed by Gary Craig of the U.S. Since its emergence in the early 1990’s, it has expanded exponentially across the world, for the very simple reason being that it works! As a meridian-based therapy, it is similar to Chinese methods of healing which have been around for thousands of years. Meridian therapy has its foundation in the belief in the body’s energy system. When we experience negative emotion, it is believed that there is a disruption in the body’s energy flow. Tapping the body, using the EFT protocol, stimulates the body’s energy system by the vibrations that are produced, resulting in clearance of the energy disruption or blockages in the system. This approach is showing wide scale support through clinical studies in North America, Europe and Australia.

In a world of stress and pressure, it is imperative that we find ways to relieve ourselves from becoming overloaded with tension. It is now known that stress and tension are either the cause or the major contributing factors in many illnesses. For our own health advantage, we need to reduce stress in our lives. Tapping is a very simple and effective way to decrease our stress levels and to heal painful events in our lives, enabling us to live with better health and improved wellbeing.
